Let’s talk about the placement.
Clearly, it wasn’t meant to air that far into Season 4.
Remember that huge list of titles from Seasons 2-4 that show everything from mid-Season 2 all the way to Last One Out of Beach City? And then this?
It was meant to air after Gem Harvest, which actually makes a LOT MORE SENSE than what they did with the episode. It was shortly after Jasper was poofed and the Smoky Quartz arc ended. I have absolutely no idea why they decided to postpone the episode until after StevenBomb 5. And even worse, they didn’t air Tiger Philanthropist until after THREE MORE EPISODES.
No wonder the whole “Amethyst feeling better about herself” thing felt so weird to bring up at this point in the show. The impact that this episode could have originally had just isn’t there anymore.
They never have her interact with Garnet, Amethyst, or Pearl anymore. We’ve seen a lot of interaction between Peridot and the CGs, but Lapis hasn’t gotten this treatment outside of Steven himself.

I mean, she did come to the realization that Steven isn’t Rose after taking a sword through the stomach and I think Steven would be able to reason with her now because of that, despite her hatred for the Diamonds and non-CG Gems.

Filler or not, it was one of the funniest episodes in the series.
Lion 4: Alternate Ending isn’t airing this month, it seems.
And yes, that’s a Mighty Magiswords episode being listed with the Steven Universe ones again.

No idea. Zap2it doesn’t have Lion 4 listed for next week and Lion 4 isn’t on Cartoon Network’s site at all. CN does a pretty poor job with its schedule, so we’ll just have to wait and see. We’ll know for sure by Monday.
