The Gideon part felt extremely rushed, to be honest. It was the most generic way to get out of that situation. Maybe at least make the Gideon conflict longer.
So, a lot of people think that the gem in The Pyramid Temple is White Diamond. Here’s exactly what the Pyramid Temple is.
So, we start off by asking the questions how long has it been there and why haven’t the Crystal Gems seen it until Serious Steven? First, probably an extremely long time. The paintings inside of it look extremely withered and the whole thing looks old and worn.
Now, we get to the interesting part. Why haven’t the Crystal Gems seen it? Simple, because while Rose was alive she never let them come back to the Strawberry Battlefield and never let them come anywhere near the Pyramid Temple. Why? It’s a death trap that’s meant to kill anyone or anything that comes into it and meant to never let it’s unwilling motor, White Diamond, escape.
White didn’t form it. It was machinery that White unwillingly was powering. Rose used White as a power source for the temple. That’s why some certain things went back into the Gem, like the triangle-shaped platforms, while other things just flat-out exploded, like the pyramid’s exterior. She was never meant to escape, and probably for a very good reason.
Also adding to this, the mural shows hands grabbing for White Diamond. The hands are probably meant to represent Gems who have tried to free her before. The obelisk also has the exact same pose that White herself has.
Another thing to add onto the Pink Diamond theory.
Peridot says in Too Far that Quartzes are buff, big, and loyal warriors.
Loyal doesn’t exactly sound like Rose, huh? That’s because she isn’t a Quartz at all. Rose is a Diamond.
First, let’s look at Rose’s body.
She’s not buff. She’s chubby! Also, the two Quartzes we’ve seen, Jasper and Amethyst, have had a specific body type.
Their chests are a sort of bulb shape that goes all the way around their backs, where as Rose’s back is flat. Her dress is likely intentionally hiding the rest of her body, so we don’t see it. From what we can see of her her body is heart-shaped, aka, a triangle. Where else have we seen bodies that are built out of triangles?
Oh yeah, that’s right, the Diamonds.
Her body is obviously a heart or a triangle, Rose’s body is just chubby. Either she is naturally like this and thought her body would be able to fit a Quartz’s more instead of a Diamond or she transformed her body to look like this.
Either way, Rose is not a Quartz, she’s a Diamond. This is just an addition to the Rose is Pink Diamond theory and if you wanna know more just search it up.
Let’s think here. Every gem has a class and a purpose, but what would Ruby do?
Ruby has fire powers and is incredibly strong for her size. Stating the obvious, right? But what would this be used for? She clearly is no warrior, she’s too small. She’s not a technician either.
What have we seen a lot of on Earth? Gem buildings. Who would you need to build buildings? Construction workers. Ruby is a gem in a class that is built for construction. Her extreme strength could be used to move large pieces of buildings to another place and her fire power could be for welding and melting metal. This could be why she is able to heat things up with just her hands, being able to weld metal together with no tools could be extremely useful for building a building.
This could also be why she has a glove for a weapon. Of course, she doesn’t need it, but it could still be representation for a welding glove. It even looks like one!
So, to conclude, I think it’s a possibility that Ruby could be a gem built for construction!
I can DEFINITELY see the resemblance to a welding glove. It’s great that she also acts like an angry construction worker.
Why? Because as Peridot said, “I won! I’m the natural leader here!” you might say this is because of the rules of the game, but I think otherwise. She didn’t know why the Crystal Gems were praising Pearl at ALL. This is likely because that’s the way Homeworld works. The strongest gem is the ‘alpha dog’ so to speak.
Now, why do I think that Rose was the leader? Rose was, without a doubt, the strongest diamond. You can look more into the Pink Diamond theory but I personally think that it’s a no brainer that Rose is Pink Diamond. She chased all other gems off earth but her own, including all of the other diamonds if she did not kill them.
I do think that Blue Diamond is undoubtedly the Lighthouse Gem and White Diamond is probably the Pyramid Temple Gem, and if this is true, this means Rose fought and defeated 2 out of the other 3 diamonds besides herself.
Another thing is that Yellow Diamond did not come to Earth even when Lapis and Peridot both said they didn’t see Rose. Why wouldn’t she have come? Because she’s afraid. She’s afraid that Rose will poof and she’ll suffer a fate just like the others. Afraid that Rose is hiding somewhere on Earth waiting for her to return so Rose can finish her off.
Rose destroyed the other diamonds. She destroyed two of them and probably severely injured the other. Her strength made her the leader and the superior of all of them. Rose also probably fought The Diamonds one-on-one, with the way she’s fighting Blue in the mural. Also, Yellow has no arms in the mural. I wonder why that is? Could Rose possibly have cut her arms off and she escaped, critically injured and barely escaping being poofed?
Honestly, she was a dick, yeah, but think about it. Her character in general is quite immature and she only viewed herself as vastly superior to Pearl because of what she was taught. Pearls are normally meant to just be servants, therefore Peridot treated her as such. She felt POWER over Pearl, thinking that she would listen to what Peridot’s saying (hence her clapping to get her to leave). She always gets a boost of adrenaline with any sort of power she seems to have (slapping Steven is an example).
Pearl definitely wasn’t at fault, but Peridot really isn’t either. I mean, she’s still getting a grip on how the hell Earth works. She did start a major conflict, but she at least got what she deserved for doing so, and even then, the issue got resolved.
This really scares me because we know how good this show is at foreshadowing and all I can think is ‘why are Steven’s clothes in the wilderness and not on the temple? why are they not at home?’
one of the final episodes is called ‘Last one out of beach city’????
what if the crystal gems lose and they have to run from the temple???
I was thinking it was because they’re still on the barn, and the next few episodes (Too Far, Gem Drill, Barn Buddies, etc.) will also have a major focus on the barn.
So who was calling Connie’s mom about the “patient”? I’m assuming it was Peridot or something, considering the person KNEW how messed up it was. And a patient wouldn’t get like, 5 fucking arms from a car accident.
Can someone please explain to me why Amethyst nearly died when her gem cracked, but Lapis not only survived in the mirror for an unknown amount of time, and fought all of the Crystal Gems, but also STOLE THE ENTIRE OCEAN all with a cracked gem?
I think the size of the crack itself plays a role. The crack in Amethyst’s Gem was not only deeper and bigger than Lapis’, but it started to crack more and more to the point where Amethyst was unstable.
Her being “overcooked” and made in a kindergarten might also apply to this, but I’m not sure.
So, how come the TV Guides haven’t been updated with August 6th’s new Steven Universe?
It still says Clarence for me, and every site doesn’t have Steven Universe listed. Is it hidden to avoid episode description spoilers, or is it just something else?
